Status of GnuGoS60 on real phones

Just thought I'd give a brief rundown of the phones that this port of gnugo has been confirmed working on, and those that have reported problems. If you don't see your phone here (or it contradicts what I have listed), and you have tested it please add a comment giving the status.

I know there are still bugs in the software, so please ignore them :)

This is just a "somehow works"/"doesn't work at all" type of check for GnuGoS60-0.1

Starts and plays for a while in E50. Crashed after about 50 moves though.

E61 works.

Nokia E70 refuses to install this. The installer simply says "Installation of GNUGo...sis is not supported." I tried both of the packages (GNUGoS60v20-0.1.sis and GNUGoS60v30-0.1.sis), though the E70 supposedly runs S60 3rd edition.

The phone reports this firmware version:

2.0618.07.10
31-08-06
RM-10
Nokia E70

Hi anonymous,

Can you launch "App Manager"
* open "Options->Settings"
* make sure that "Software Installation" is set to "All"

That is most likely cause, since that setting is off by default in some phones.

Hi there!
My E65 runs GNU Go for S60 just fine!

Output from *#0000#:
1.0633.18.01
11-01-07
RM-208
Nokia E65

my version of e-70:
3.0633.09.04
20-11-06
rm-10

install works, plays a few moves but
cursor invisible in normal mode and very hard to find in full screen mode

compliments for the great achievement nevertheless

Hi, nice port. Works on my N70 just fine.

my 7610 gives an out of memory error after several (2-10) moves on the 9x9 board. trying the 19x19, no crashes yet.

On E60 I had to remove it.
It is impossibly slow after the second move on a 9x9 board.

nokia 7610 update- it will play 30-50 moves and then run out of memory when it ends up trying to read out a life or death scenario. it takes up to 4 minutes a move after the first few.

Thanks for the information for the 7610.

I logged a bug for it, but to be honest in the short term I think there is not a lot I can do for that. Out of memory is out of memory.

Regarding the 7610 out of memory error, can you try the 0.1.1 release, and see if it improves the situation any? (I know it says for FP2, but it probably should still work on FP1).

For E63 it also says that installing filenime.sis is not supported. And yeah, i have all programs allowed in my settings.
